There’s been a significant update on Arsenal’s transfer plans for the summer as Fabrizio Romano gave his trademark “here we go” to the Martin Zubimendi deal.

It looks like everything is more or less in place for the Real Sociedad midfielder to join the Gunners, who could be in for a busy summer.

It’s been a disappointing season at the Emirates Stadium, with the team set to finish trophyless again, and that surely means some major spending is required on new signings.

See below as Romano has posted about Zubimendi joining Arsenal, while a report from Football Transfers has also linked the north Londoners strongly with two other Spanish stars in the form of Nico Williams and Joan Garcia.

Zubimendi has now verbally agreed to sign a long term deal… so formal steps must follow soon with Arsenal to trigger €60m clause.

Meanwhile, speculation has also been hotting up that Arsenal will win the race for Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres.

That’s according to a recent report from talkSPORT, so what could Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal XI look like next season if these four big names all end up coming in?

This looks like a pretty immense line up for Arteta, who would still have other big names like Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard in reserve up front.

Ben White and Riccardo Calafiori would also be able to rotate with Jurrien Timber and Myles Lewis-Skelly, respectively, and it would be interesting to see if Garcia ended up replacing David Raya as the first choice number one.

Would four summer signings be enough for Arsenal?

It’s clear Arsenal need a big summer, and sorting out their goal-scoring issues has to be the top…
