Man Utd urged to sign Inter star

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has made it clear he’d love to see Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries at Old Trafford.

The Netherlands international has been a star performer for Inter, playing a key role in guiding them to this season’s Champions League final.

Neville was clearly impressed with how Dumfries played, with the 29-year-old even scoring twice in the away leg at Barcelona.

Inter play a similar system to Man Utd under Ruben Amorim, with the Serie A giants using Dumfries in a right wing-back role that gives him plenty of attacking freedom.

Neville could imagine Dumfries being a perfect fit for the Red Devils in that role in Amorim’s system.

Denzel Dumfries to Manchester United transfer message from Gary Neville

Discussing Dumfries on The Overlap, Neville said: “Do you know what I kept thinking during the game?

“With the way Man United are playing with a back-five and wing-backs under Ruben Amorim, I was thinking about that right wing-back.

“I was thinking about Dumfries for United. I would like to see him in the Premier League, wouldn’t you? How good was he? He was unbelievable. He’s so good, so good.”

Dumfries is certainly one of the top right-backs in Europe at the moment, but he’s also surely going to prove a tricky target for United.

Why would Denzel Dumfries leave Inter for Man Utd?

Dumfries is a key player enjoying his football at Inter right now, so why would he want to join United in their current state?

There’s no doubt that MUFC could benefit from bringing someone like him in, but there’s not that much about the club that would be that attractive to him right now.
