
Chelsea reportedly have an interest in Lille striker Jonathan David as he’s set to become available as a free agent this summer.
The Blues could make more than one signing up front this summer, and it seems a free transfer swoop for David is one option being considered, according to Simon Phillips.
The Canada international has been a prolific scorer during his time in Ligue 1 and it will be interesting to see where he can take his career from here.
Chelsea seem to be ready to gamble on David, but they might have to be quick as Napoli are also already doing their bit to snap him up, according to Phillips’ report on his Substack.

Chelsea surely need to make changes up front this summer, and David is one low-cost option who could be well worth looking into.
The west London giants might also want to put aside big money for another signing in that position, while Phillips claims two current forwards could leave.
It seems there’s some uncertainty surrounding Nicolas Jackson’s future, while Marc Guiu could also be leaving Chelsea for a loan move for the 2025/26 season.
