Liverpool star Ibrahima Konate wanted by Real Madrid in bargain move

Liverpool have already lost right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold who is now on his way to join Real Madrid this summer.

The two time Premier League winning defender has refused to sign a new deal at Anfield and he is now ready to start a new chapter in his career which is going to take him to one of the biggest clubs in the world to play with world class players.

However, there is another Liverpool player of the starting line up who is being linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

Konate faces uncertain future at Anfield

Centre-back Ibrahima Konate, who is about to enter the final year of his contract at Anfield, is being chased by Real Madrid, according to Defensa Central.

The Spanish giants are reportedly ready to pay €30 million (£25.2m) to sign him this summer.

A player of Konate’s quality is surely more expensive but due to his contract situation with the Reds, Real Madrid feel there is a possibility to sign him up for a bargain fee.

Real Madrid are looking to invest in their defense this summer as it clearly shows from their transfer strategy.

They have already secured the signing of Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth this summer and with Alexander-Arnold coming in soon as well, it shows that they want to completely reshuffle their defense and add players who can perform for them for a long time.

Konate is now one of their targets and their interest in signing the French defender is bad news for Arne Slot and his team.
