Liverpool bos Arne Slot is ready to strengthen his squad this summer after winning the Premier League title.
The Premier League champions have already secured the signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold who has joined Real Madrid.
More signings are expected soon at Anfield this summer with the possibility of Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz arriving at Anfield.
Their transfer business is not going to end their as the Reds are looking to sign a new centre-back as well this summer.
Guehi has given Liverpool a major boost to sign him
Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has reportedly turned down a move to Tottenham , with Liverpool now emerging as the frontrunners to secure his signature this summer, according to Football Insider.
Despite Tottenham’s recent Europa League success and qualification for the Champions League, Guehi is said to have declined their approach, seeking a club that consistently challenges for top trophies.
At Liverpool, Guehi cannot challenge for the Premier League title as well as the Champions League, something that he would be unable to do at Spurs.
Liverpool, under manager Slot, are accelerating their pursuit of the 24-year-old centre-back.
The Reds view Guehi as a long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk, aiming to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new season.
