Aston Villa are open to selling Emiliano Martinez in a bargain fee

Aston Villa are reportedly prepared to part ways with World Cup-winning goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez for a surprisingly modest transfer fee of just €20 million, according to emerging reports from Turkish media.

This development has come as a surprise to many, especially given Martinez’s rising reputation since arriving at Villa Park.

The 31-year-old has become a central figure for both club and country, playing a pivotal role in Argentina’s Copa America and 2022 World Cup triumphs.

His performances have consistently drawn praise due to his consistent performances for the club.

Galatasaray want Aston Villa star Martinez

According to Futbol Arena, as relayed by Sport Witness, Turkish giants Galatasaray are among the clubs interested in securing Martinez’s services.

The Super Lig champions are expected to lose long-time number one Fernando Muslera, who may return to Uruguay for personal reasons.

Galatasaray have set their sights on Martinez as a potential high-profile replacement, with journalist Ali Naci Küçük stating that Villa are open to accepting offers between €20 million and €25 million.

Interest in Martinez is not limited to Turkey, however. European giants such as Barcelona, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid are said to be monitoring the situation closely.

The goalkeeper has also been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Gary Neville called the Aston Villa goalkeeper a ‘massive character’ on Sky Sports.
