Manchester United scouts are understood to have been impressed after monitoring the progress of Como youngster Nico Paz.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder looks like a huge prospect, and sources have informed CaughtOffside that Real Madrid are eager to re-sign him this summer.

Man United are also interested and could make a move, though no contacts have taken place yet as Paz considers his options.

Real Madrid’s new manager Xabi Alonso is a big fan of Paz and could be a driving force behind triggering his €8m buy back clause.

CaughtOffside understands, however, that Paz himself will not necessarily rush back to the Bernabeu unless he’s assured a regular first-team place.

Paz previously struggled for playing time in his first spell in Madrid, so it makes sense that he’s now ready to take his time over his next move.

This could perhaps give Man Utd a serious opportunity to move for the Argentina international, but one imagines that could depend on what happens at Como this summer.

Como’s manager Cesc Fabregas is currently a target for the vacant managerial position at Inter Milan, but it’s not yet clear if he’ll go.

Fabregas was also linked with other big jobs but ended up staying at Como, so that could help the club keep a key player like Paz.
