Talks taking place: Tottenham making ‘positive’ move for £50m Chelsea transfer target

Tottenham are in talks over the potential signing of West Ham United winger Mohammed Kudus, who has also been linked with Chelsea.

Fabrizio Romano has posted about Spurs pursuing Kudus, with things seemingly heading in a positive direction, according to the Italian journalist.

Simon Phillips has also recently claimed that Chelsea made a £50m offer for Kudus earlier in the summer, which was turned down, though he suggested the Blues’ interest is still there.

For now, however, Romano suggests it’s very much Tottenham leading the race, though he also mentions other clubs are also interested in the 24-year-old Ghana international…

Kudus could be a fine signing for Tottenham or other top clubs, but he could also be a slightly risky purchase given that he almost certainly won’t come cheap.

Is Mohammed Kudus worth all the hype?

It would be fair to say Kudus looks to be at a pretty critical point in his career after a mixed spell in the Premier League.

When he arrived from Ajax, Kudus made a terrific start at West Ham, and quickly looked like someone they might struggle to keep hold of.

His second season was a lot worse, though, and one imagines the Hammers might now sense it would be a good time to try cashing in on him before his value falls.

But perhaps that means Spurs and Chelsea should beware…
