
Leicester City are reportedly interested in signing a Champions League winner who could become available on a free transfer this summer.
The Foxes remain in a state of flux following their relegation from the Premier League, with the hunt for a managerial successor to Ruud van Nistelrooy ongoing, although ex-QPR boss Marti Cifuentes is now understood to be the frontrunner to fill that vacancy at the King Power Stadium.
Even with a new manager yet to be confirmed, the club’s recruitment team are continuing with their efforts to bolster the squad ahead of the new season, with their first Championship fixture taking place one month from tomorrow.
Leicester interested in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
According to Turkish outlet Haber Turk, Leicester and Burnley are among the clubs taking an interest in signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who seems likely to be on the move this summer.
Besikstas are seeking to terminate the 31-year-old’s contract, having recently done likewise with Ciro Immobile, and the Foxes could duly seek to pounce if the former Arsenal and Liverpool midfielder becomes available.
The 35-cap England international has verbally expressed an openness in returning to his homeland, and his situation will become clearer after negotiations take place. He currently earns €3m (£2.58m) a year in Turkey and has one year remaining on his existing deal.
