Man United optimistic about Bryan Mbeumo transfer soon

Manchester United are reportedly cautiously optimistic about completing a transfer deal for Brentford right winger Bryan Mbeumo in time for their pre-season tour in the US.

The Red Devils have long been pursuing Mbeumo, with Brentford’s demands seemingly still proving slightly problematic.

According to Sky Sports, the Bees want much of Mbeumo’s £65m transfer fee paid up front, but Man Utd seemingly still remain quite confident of getting a deal done soon.

There’ll likely be many United fans who are frustrated at how long this has taken, but they’ll hope the club’s optimism proves accurate and there can be positive developments shortly.

Sky state that United’s first pre-season game is on July 26th, and the club hope to have Mbeumo with them in time for that.

One positive detail for United is that Sky Sports claim Mbeumo himself only wants the move to Old Trafford, with personal terms largely all agreed.

The Cameroon international had also been linked strongly with Tottenham by the Daily Mirror and others, with his old manager Thomas Frank perhaps understandably keen to work with him again.

Mbeumo got 20 goals and seven assists in 38 Premier League games last season, so Frank clearly knows how to get the best out of the 25-year-old.

Still, MUFC are a big name who still have real pulling power even if they’re going through a difficult patch on the pitch.
