Newcastle United are looking to improve their defensive unit during the summer transfer window, and they have identified the Valencia youngster Cesar Tárrega as a potential target.
According to a report from Fichajes, the 21-year-old central defender is on a three-man shortlist, and it will be interesting to see if Newcastle can get the deal done.
The Valencia defender is highly rated across Europe, and he is likely to cost around £4.5 million. The player could prove to be a major bargain at that price. It will be interesting to see if Newcastle follow up on their interest with an official offer to get the deal done.
The other two players on their shortlist are Giorgio Salvini from Atalanta and Nicolo Savona from Juventus.

Newcastle looked vulnerable at the back last season, and they need to improve in that area of the pitch.
They will be competing in the UEFA Champions League, and they will be up against top-class attackers. They need to tighten up at the back if they want to fight for trophies and finish in the top four once again.
