With Hakan Calhanoglu, it’s a different story every day. Yesterday, Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio closed the door on a transfer, emphasizing how important the midfielder is for the present and the future.
But now, as per my sources, we’ve moved from Calhanoglu being a target for Galatasaray to… Fenerbahce, and perhaps Calhanoglu himself would do well to speak out on his future and clarify things, as the situation is almost becoming a farce.
Confirmation of the rumours coming out of Turkey last night has been confirmed by my sources; it’s true that Jose Mourinho and Fenerbahce are showing a strong interest in signing Calhanoglu.
As for Inter, my understanding is that they have always had a baseline asking price of €30 million for the Turkey international to avoid selling off a specialist who arrived on a free transfer.
We’ll see how things develop, but it’s time to make a definitive decision. One way or another.

Hakan Calhanoglu heading for Inter exit?
Calhanoglu has had a fine career in Serie A, having first made the move to Italy with AC Milan back in the summer of 2017.
The 31-year-old spent four seasons at the San Siro, before then making the controversial move to their rivals Inter on a free.
Calhanoglu has continued to shine with the Nerazzuri, winning the title in 2023/24, and helping the club reach two Champions League finals, though of those ended in defeat, first to Manchester City in 2023, and then to PSG in the most recent final in 2025.
