Noni Madueke’s transfer to Arsenal is now official, and it seems Mikel Arteta got glowing reviews on the England winger from some of his players.
According to the Telegraph’s Sam Dean, Gunners duo Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice both gave endorsements of the deal to Arteta.
It seems the pair rate Madueke highly, even if the deal hasn’t gone down that well with a lot of the Arsenal fanbase.
See below for Dean’s post on X, formerly Twitter, about the positive feeling about Madueke’s arrival in the Arsenal squad…
For all the (understandable) doubts in the Arsenal fanbase about Noni Madueke’s arrival from Chelsea, I’m told Bukayo Saka & Declan Rice gave him glowing reviews when talking to Mikel Arteta/the club. Both players evidently think Madueke is good enough to make an impact at #AFC.

Discussing Madueke’s move to Arsenal, Dean said: “For all the (understandable) doubts in the Arsenal fanbase about Noni Madueke’s arrival from Chelsea, I’m told Bukayo Saka & Declan Rice gave him glowing reviews when talking to Mikel Arteta/the club. Both players evidently think Madueke is good enough to make an impact at #AFC.”
Where will Noni Madueke play for Arsenal?
Madueke has mostly played on the right flank in his career so far, but can also play on the left.
Given the presence of Saka on Arsenal’s right-hand side, it’s hard to see the new arrival getting a lot of playing time in that position, though having that extra depth is useful.

It could be that Arsenal fans will see a lot of Madueke on the left instead, giving Arteta a much-needed alternative to inconsistent performers such as Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
Arsenal sign another player from Chelsea
Arsenal just can’t stop signing players from their rivals Chelsea, with Madueke following goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in swapping Stamford Bridge for the Emirates Stadium this summer.
