Alexander Isak agrees terms with Liverpool, transfer talks underway

Liverpool are keen on signing the Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak during the summer transfer window.

According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Alexander Isak has already secured an agreement with Liverpool over personal terms. There is a verbal agreement in place with the player, and Liverpool are now in contact with Newcastle to get the deal done.

It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can agree on a fee.

Can Liverpool sign Alexander Isak?

Liverpool are keen on the Swedish International, and he could prove to be an exceptional acquisition. They need a quality striker who can find the back of the net regularly. Darwin Nunez managed to score just seven goals last season. They need an upgrade on the South American if they want to win the UEFA Champions League and fight for the title regularly.

Clubs like Manchester City and Arsenal have improved their squad immensely, and Liverpool need to improve as well. Isak was the best striker in the Premier League last season, and he could prove to be an excellent addition.

The striker is likely to earn similar wages to that of Hugo Ekitike. The French international joined Liverpool earlier this summer. Isak is likely to partner with Ekitike in the attack if the move goes through.
