Raheem Sterling is expected to seal a permanent exit from Chelsea during the summer transfer window, and he would be interested in joining Fulham.

According to former Premier League scout Mick Brown, it would be his preferred option, and Fulham are interested in securing his signature as well.

“I hear a move to Fulham would be his preferred option, and it’s something they’re interested in.

“For me, that’s the level he has to go and drop down to now, where he could still do a job, and that’s with no disrespect to Fulham.

“When he’s been at Chelsea and Arsenal, he’s being expected to still be the elite-level Raheem Sterling as he was when he was at his best.

“They want him to score every week and solve the issues both sides have had.

“He’s not that player any more, whether his legs have gone or he’s just hit a wall, I don’t know the reason.”

Raheem Sterling needs a fresh start

The 30-year-old has not been at his best for quite some time, and he had a disappointing spell at Arsenal last season. He managed to find the back of the net just once in 28 appearances for them. He is not a key player for Chelsea anymore, and he needs to leave the club in order to play more often. He will not want to sit on the bench at this stage of his career. The player has had interest from Saudi Arabia, but he wants to continue in the Premier League.

Joining Fulham could be ideal for him. He is likely to get more opportunities with them, and he will be able to rediscover his form and confidence without being put under too much pressure.

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea are willing to sanction his departure this summer. They will look to recoup some money from his exit and improve their squad. They have already brought in quality signings this summer, and they are looking to improve their attacking unit even further.
