Hello to friends at CaughtOffside, I’m here to provide an update on the situation of Chelsea’s summer transfer business as they plan to remain active in making new additions to the squad but their immediate focus has changed at the moment.
Chelsea’s summer transfer window is shaping up to be just as busy off the pitch as it is on it, with the club working tirelessly to reshape their squad.
The Blues’ primary focus right now is not on bringing in new faces, but rather on offloading players to create room, both financially and within the squad, for their top targets.
This approach is not surprising given the wave of arrivals earlier in the window. Between June and early July, Chelsea made several signings, prompting the need to balance the books and keep the squad size manageable.

Sales have already been made, with the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Armando Broja, Lesley Ugochukwu, and João Félix all moving on. However, more departures are expected in the coming weeks.
Among those now firmly on the exit list is Nicolas Jackson, who scored 13 goals for the Blues last season. The striker’s time at Stamford Bridge appears to be nearing an end, with Chelsea working closely with his representatives to find a suitable move.
Christopher Nkunku’s situation is similar, while highly rated, the Frenchman is not expected to feature for the Blues this season, and efforts are being made to secure his next destination quickly.
Once these departures are sorted, Chelsea intend to push ahead with two major targets: Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons.
