Liverpool are looking to improve their attacking unit before the summer transfer window closes, and they will resume talks to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.
They have been trying to sign the 25-year-old striker in recent weeks, but they have not managed to secure an agreement with Newcastle. They have had a substantial turn down for the player earlier.
Liverpool plan Isak talks tomorrow
Liverpool have now sanctioned the departure of Darwin Nunez, and they are now looking to replace him. According to journalist Sebastien Vidal, Liverpool will now begin working on the deal to sign the Swedish International. They have already planned transfer talks with the Newcastle hierarchy for Monday.
It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can finalise an agreement in the coming days. Isak is determined to secure a move away from Newcastle, and he wants to join the Premier League champions. He wants to compete at the highest level and fight for major trophies.

Isak has been exceptional for Newcastle since joining them, and he was the best striker in the Premier League last season. He helped them win the Carabao Cup and secure Champions League qualification as well. It is understandable why Newcastle do not want to let him leave, but they are powerless to stop him from leaving.
The player has already skipped pre-season with Newcastle, and he is desperate to move on. It makes no sense for Newcastle to hold onto him against his wishes.
On the other hand, Liverpool are in desperate need of a reliable striker like him. Nunez managed to score just seven goals last season, and he needed replacing. It will be interesting to see if they can sign the Newcastle star as his replacement.
