Liverpool’s pursuit of Alexander Isak remains alive but in a holding pattern, as the club waits for a clear signal from Newcastle United before making any fresh move.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Reds have made no further bid, approach, or meaningful contact since their £110 million offer was swiftly and emphatically rejected.

In this current case, Newcastle had at one stage given an indication they might be willing to engage over Isak, prompting Liverpool to submit their £110m bid with optimism. The speed and strength of the rejection, therefore, came as a surprise to those at Anfield.
