Tottenham are pushing hard to land Eberechi Eze as the deal enters its final stretch, with the next 48 hours expected to decide the outcome of this transfer battle with Arsenal.

Sources close to the situation have informed CaughtOffside that Spurs have held a two-hour meeting with Crystal Palace officials, making it clear they’re serious about this signing.

New Tottenham manager Thomas Frank sees Eze as a direct replacement for Son Heung-min: versatile, dynamic, and ready to slot straight into the starting XI.

Arsenal have also been working on the Eze transfer for weeks, and at one point looked to be in a strong position, but delays in offloading players have now opened the door for Tottenham.

Tottenham aren’t keen to pay the full clause, but are understood to be preparing a “competitive offer”, according to one source. Spurs supposedly believe £55m is a fairer valuation for the England international.

Multiple sources were also able to confirm that Eze himself is open to joining Tottenham instead of waiting for Arsenal, with the 27-year-old eager to play in the Champions League.

One imagines Eze could also have a key role with THFC, whereas it’s hard to know for sure if he’d start regularly for the Gunners, which could be crucial for him in a World Cup year.

Palace, meanwhile, could let Eze go but also want to bring in a replacement, though Spurs are now pushing hard after the injury to James Maddison, and having missed out on Morgan Gibbs-White earlier in this window.
