Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent weeks.
The 26-year-old central defender will be out of contract next summer, and he has not signed an extension with the Premier League. Liverpool are under pressure to sell him this summer, and they have set an asking price of €50 million.
Can Real Madrid sign Konate?
It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid are willing to come forward and pay up for him. The Reds will not want to lose the player on a free transfer for next year.
Meanwhile, a report from Defensa Central claims that Liverpool manager Arne Slot has now urged the club hierarchy to prevent the Frenchman from leaving the club this summer. It remains to be seen whether they can convince the player to sign a new deal with them.
Konate has been linked with Barcelona as well.

There is no doubt that Konate is one of the best defenders in the Premier League, and keeping him at the club will be a huge boost for Liverpool. They have already sanctioned departures of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luis Diaz. Diogo Jota has also passed away in an accident.
They have lost a tremendous amount of quality and experience this summer, and even though they have brought in multiple young talents, that might not be enough for them to retain the title. They will need more experience on the side, and Konate is one of the first names on the team sheet.
The French defender is a key player for them, and Liverpool simply cannot afford to lose him this summer. They will not want to lose him on a free transfer for next year either. It would be ideal for all parties if a contract extension were agreed.
