Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli wanted in £80m plus move by Saudi club

Arsenal are edging closer to yet another signing this summer as they make breakthrough in the deal to sign Eberechi Eze.

The Crystal Palace star was destined to joined Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Tottenham but the Gunners joined the race and hijacked the deal in the last minute.

The player’s desire was always to play for the Gunners since he supports them. When Arteta and his team made their move, Eze instantly said yes.

It could mean bad news for one current Arsenal player though. Since Eze is expected to be deployed on the left-side of the Arsenal attack, Gabriel Martinelli’s place in the starting line up could be in trouble.

The Brazilian winger has now been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.

According to IndyKaila News, clubs in Saudi Arabia are preparing a significant financial package to tempt the Brazilian away from North London.

At least one Saudi Pro League side is ready to table an offer in excess of £80 million for the 24-year-old attacker.

The move highlights the growing ambition of Saudi clubs to attract top European talent, with Martinelli now the latest high-profile name to be linked with a switch to the Middle East.

The Brazilian attacker has struggled to perform at the Emirates Stadium recently. His performances have come under severe scrutiny.
