According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Newcastle United have been presented with the opportunity to sign Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus.
The attacker scored 17 goals for Serie A giants Juventus in all competitions last season.
The Italian giants are open to moving the 25-year-old forward on in this window after securing Jonathan David from Lille, and have been offering his name to clubs across Europe, including Newcastle.
Sources in Italy indicate that Juventus view Vlahovic as a potential replacement should Newcastle lose Alexander Isak, who has been heavily linked with Liverpool.
Newcastle United offered chance to sign Dusan Vlahovic
The Bianconeri are willing to accept bids in the region of €30 million, a figure designed to ease Vlahovic’s departure and reduce the club’s wage bill.
His contract makes him one of Juve’s highest earners, and the club are keen to rebalance their finances following David’s arrival.
Despite the proposal, Jacobs reports that Newcastle are not planning to advance with negotiations at this stage. It is also unclear whether Vlahovic himself would be interested in a switch to St James’ Park.
While the player’s talent is unquestionable, he was once considered among Europe’s most exciting strikers, injuries and inconsistency in Turin have left Juventus ready to listen to offers.
The striker has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United.
