There is understood to be a “broad agreement” in place for the permanent transfer of Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United to Chelsea.

Talks have been going on for some time now, and well-placed sources in the industry have indicated that things have really advanced in the last couple of days, though we’re not quite at the 100% stage just yet.

CaughtOffside understands that it has taken some time to agree on the fee for Garnacho, with the feeling being that both clubs will now settle on something in the region of a £50m package, add-ons included.

There are still some details to settle, while Chelsea are also keen to ensure they can sell players to keep in line with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Chelsea are fully aware of interest in several of their players, with Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson looking like two who could potentially bring in big fees.

However, the Blues have mostly had clubs interested in signing the attacking duo on loan, so it remains to be seen precisely how all the financial figures will look by the end of the window.

From Garnacho’s end, though, there is no issue, with the Argentina international fully focused on completing a move to Stamford Bridge.

Once everything is in place between the clubs, Garnacho already has an agreement to join Chelsea, having rejected the likes of Bayern Munich and clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

Is Garnacho transfer worth the risk for Chelsea?

Garnacho hasn’t been entirely convincing during his time at Old Trafford, and it’s perhaps a bit of a surprise that Chelsea are focusing on him as a top target.
