Chelsea are looking to improve their attacking unit with the signing of Santiago Gimenez from AC Milan before the summer transfer window closes.
They have been dealt a major injury blow, and Liam Delap has been sidelined for a couple of months. They are looking to bring in a quality replacement, and they have identified the 24-year-old Mexican International as a target, as per reports via Football Italia.
Chelsea need someone like Santiago Gimenez
Gimenez has done quite well in Italy, and he scored 22 goals last season. He managed to pick up six assists along the way as well. There is no doubt that he would be an excellent addition to Chelsea. He is expected to support Joao Pedro in the attack during Delap’s absence.
Initially, Chelsea were trying to bring Nicolas Jackson back to the club, but it seems that the Senegal International is determined to leave Chelsea. He wants to join Bayer Munich, and therefore, Chelsea have had to look at other options. It will be interesting to see if they can sign the 24-year-old striker from AC Milan in the coming hours.
The Italian outfit might not be too keen on letting the player leave. It will be difficult for them to replace him at the stage of the window. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
