Leeds United manager Daniel Farke could reportedly be ready to bring goalkeeper Illan Meslier back into the first-team fold in a surprise move.
It’s not been the easiest start to the season for Leeds, who were always likely to face a big challenge staying up after returning to the Premier League.
Farke’s side were recently thrashed 5-0 by Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, and are also already out of the Carabao Cup.
Leeds also have injuries to contend with, and that’s now a worry in goal as Lucas Perri is reported to have picked up a knock.
According to the Leeds Press, this could see Meslier recalled to Farke’s starting line up.

Meslier has previously been a key player for LUFC, but in more recent times he’s fallen out of favour and looked likely to move on this summer.
In the end, a transfer didn’t materialise for the French shot-stopper, and he may now get another chance to stake his claim for a starting spot.
Perri will surely remain Leeds’ number one once he’s back fit, but this is a chance for Meslier to at least remind Farke what he’s capable of.

It will be interesting to see if Leeds still end up letting Meslier go in the near future, though, as one imagines there’ll likely be some suitors out there monitoring his situation.
It’s hard to imagine Meslier will get enough of an extended run in the side to really turn things around for himself at Elland Road.
