Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants the club to sign Viktor Gyokeres before the club heads out for the pre-season Asia tour next month.
According to Correio Da Manha, Arsenal are now reading an improved offer to sign the player. It remains to be seen whether they can wrap up the move for the 27-year-old striker quickly.
Arsenal need a reliable finisher
Gyokeres has had an exceptional season with Sporting CP, and he scored 54 goals in all competitions. He could be the ideal acquisition for Arsenal as they look to solve their goalscoring problems. The lack of a clinical finisher has cost them the league title, and they will look to make amends this time around.
Arsenal has been linked with the move for the RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko as well, but it seems that they are not prioritising a move for the Swedish International. He is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world right now, and the move to Arsenal would be ideal for him as well. This could be his final opportunity to join an elite club. He will look to win major trophies with them in the near future.
