Man United get closer to the signing of striker Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen has made the decision to prioritise a move to Manchester United this summer, according to Fichajes.

The Red Devils have been handed a significant boost in their search for a new number nine under manager Ruben Amorim.

Following the failures of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee at the club, the Premier League giants have been looking for a new striker to lead their attack.

While Matheus Cunha has been signed already at the club and Bryan Mbeumo is edging closer to a move to Old Trafford, an out and out striker is needed who can solve the club’s goal scoring issues.

Man United need a proven goal scorer

United have been actively pursuing a top striker to spearhead their attack for the 2025/26 season, with Amorim keen to reshape the squad and address the goal scoring inconsistency that plagued their previous campaign

United’s striker hunt faced a setback earlier in the window when Liam Delap, their top target, opted to join Chelsea, forcing the club to look elsewhere.

Both Osimhen and Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres emerged as leading options, but complications arose when Gyokeres made it clear he favoured a move to Premier League rivals Arsenal, leaving United in a challenging position.

Now, however, Osimhen’s reported decision to prioritise Man United has come as an encouraging news for the Red Devils and their fans.
