
Marcus Rashford’s long and emotional chapter at Manchester United appears to be nearing its end, with the academy graduate preparing for a fresh start away from Old Trafford this summer.
After two decades with the club he grew up supporting, Rashford is not in the plans of new manager Ruben Amorim, sources close to the agent industry have informed CaughtOffside.
Rashford’s successful winter loan spell at Aston Villa, where he contributed four goals and six assists in just 17 appearances, has reignited interest from several top European clubs.
The 27-year-old forward’s performances at Villa Park showed that he has regained his form.
Marcus Rashford wants a move to Barcelona
The England international’s priority is clear: Rashford dreams of playing for Barcelona, a club he has admired throughout his career.
Discussions between Rashford and the Catalan club’s sporting director Deco have progressed positively, with the player willing to take a substantial pay cut from his current £325,000-per-week wage to facilitate the move to La Liga.
With Barcelona facing financial challenges, a loan deal with an option to buy is currently being explored.
Man United are open to parting ways with Rashford this summer and have set an asking price in the region of £40 million.
Former Man United manager praised Rashford by calling him ‘unstoppable’ and despite the player losing his form at United, he has shown he can still perform well and his spell at Villa is an example of that.
