Eintracht Frankfurt are reportedly expecting offers for their star striker Hugo Ekitike this month, with Liverpool a “concrete option” for the French forward.

Manchester United and Newcastle United have also been mentioned as suitors for Ekitike this summer, though Chelsea are now considered unlikely to be in for him.

The Blues had an interest in Ekitike earlier this summer, but he’s expensive with a price tag of €100m, according to Florian Plettenberg.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have already brought in two new strikers in this window, with Liam Delap joining from Ipswich Town and Joao Pedro joining from Brighton.

Ekitike contributed a total of 22 goals and 11 assists in all competitions last season and looks like he could be well worth signing for Liverpool.

Hugo Ekitike is the striker upgrade Liverpool need

LFC were superb last season as they won the Premier League title with relative ease, but for all that they have a prolific scorer in wide-forward Mohamed Salah, they could do with an upgrade on Darwin Nunez in the middle.

The Uruguay international has flopped during his time at Anfield and will surely be on his way out of the club this summer.

Napoli want Nunez, and that could help Liverpool raise the funds required to spend big on the €100m-rated Ekitike.
