Liverpool continues to be linked with a move for the Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak this summer.
Former Premier League scout Mick Brown has revealed that the Swedish International is their top target as they look to improve the unit. Liverpool are searching for a reliable finisher who can lead the line for them. Darwin Nunez scored just seven goals last season, and Liverpool need a better player if they want to fight for major trophies consistently.

Brown said to Football Insider: “They’ve been looking at Isak, who by all accounts is their top target in that position, and Hugo Ekitike, as well as Ollie Watkins.
“Their next target is a centre-forward, and I expect them to make progress towards signing one of their big-name targets in the next few weeks. It will happen and get done soon.”
Isak is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world right now, and he could prove to be an excellent upgrade on the South American. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can get the deal done. There have been rumours that Liverpool have already approached Newcastle, but the Magpies are unwilling to sell their key player.
Isak has scored 27 goals and picked up six assists for Newcastle this past season.
