Arsenal face delay in signing Eberechi Eze due to Crystal Palace

Arsenal are actively pursuing Crystal Palace’s standout midfielder Eberechi Eze, following the arrival of striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon.

The Gunners see Eze, 27, as a natural extension to further strengthen their midfield and attacking options after a busy summer transfer window.

Their interest in the English midfielder is well-documented with manager Mikel Arteta looking to strengthen his squad depth and quality to challenge Liverpool for the Premier League title this season.

Eze’s release clause is reportedly set at around £68 million (€77–78m), though Arsenal are eager to structure the payment.

Crystal Palace are insisting on approximately £35m being paid upfront, with the remaining fee spread over instalments and potentially tied to performance-linked add-ons.

The negotiations have been slow to sign Eze this summer but Arsenal are still confident of securing the services of the Crystal Palace star.

According to Football Transfers, the main stumbling block in the deal is being caused by Palace’s failure to sign Eze’s replacement.

The FA Cup winners want to make sure that they adequately replace Eze this summer before letting him leave the club to join the Gunners.
