Aston Villa demand £60m for Ollie Watkins amid Man United rumours

Manchester United are interested in signing Aston Villa attacker Ollie Watkins this summer but Villa’s high asking price may prove it difficult for them to sign the England attacker.

The Red Devils are looking to add more threat to their attack this summer and one of the players on their radar is Villa striker Watkins.

Along with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, Ruben Amorim’s side are exploring the possibility of signing Watkins this summer as they look to move on from the inconsistent Rasmus Hojlund and the unimpressive Joshua Zirkzee.

Having struggled to score goals last season when they ended the Premier League campaign with a negative goal difference, the Premier League giants have made it clear that attacking additions to the squad are crucial in order to reclaim their place among the top clubs in the league.

However, according to The Guardian, Unai Emery’s side are set to demand £60m for their star attacker this summer.

Even when Arsenal showed interest in signing the Villa star earlier this year, Emery’s side demanded £60m, a fee that the Gunners refused to match at that stage.

Aston Villa have made it clear they have no intention of selling Watkins this summer, standing firm on their stance as they prepare for the new campaign.

With the England striker tied down to a long-term deal that keeps him at Villa Park until 2028, the Midlands club hold all the cards when it comes to his future.
